I get a black box (empty) where there used to be a player with my older version of Firefox, but it works great with Safari.

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
I agree. I listen to live streaming (Greatful Dead & a few other)shows, and I love that I don't have the shows interrupted after every song. It could be a more seamless transition, but I'm not complaining.
Most of the issues people seem to be having are with far more complicated processes than I ever do.

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
I would like to embed audio to a blogsite...the long black play banner is fine and works well, BUT there is a huge blank blue square below and nothing can be place there. Could this disappear?

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
For audio embed:
The new player (I believe requires QUICKTIME plugin) will not work in browsers that do not have this plugin. I use Chrome browser and this fails there (just blue screen with the audio control bar).
So I use the old version that requires FLASH and it works all the time in IE, Firefox and Chrome browsers.
The code for flash starts with "

I couldn't open any of the Dimension X files. I clicked everywhere possible. I tried to use your download program. Nothing worked.

I should have mentioned that I tried clicking in both sections. Nothing happened when I clicked in the first section, and when I clicked in the second section, the following words appeared:
" The specified item's metadata does not exist or is unparseable.
Feel free to report this so that we can fix the problem."

PLUS THE SLIDE VOLUME CONTROL WORKS A LOT BETTER THAT THE NEW CLICK ONE, SO YOU SEE, SOME BETTER AND SOME WORSE FEATURES ON DIFFERENT PLAYERS, WHY NOT MAKE THE WHOLE TITLE APPEAR, SLIDE VOLUME LIKE OLD ONE, BUT BETTER PERFORMANCE ON NEWER VERSION

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
Firstly, I really enjoy what I find on archive.org. Now for the problems. When you first started your new Beta version player, I could get it to play but it would often have issues with the streaming so I've been using the original.
Today, when I choose the new player, the video starts immediately but the audio becomes null. i.e. there is no audio the button deactivates almost as if it is muted but this seems not to really be the problem. I use internet explorer and windows 7 is my os.
Oh, one other issue, many of the uploads will not play or stream directly for me, I have to download them to my computer and play them with one of my various players. I hope this helps and if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate hearing them.
Thanks again,
Toni from Olympia WA
I can't get my reply to post on Tracey's original thread to I'm trying here as a test. I hope this doesn't inconvenience you.
